Artisan’s existing website was not beneficial to its growth and lacked a modern design that reflected the establishment’s vibrant atmosphere. It relied on a single, repetitive hero image and displayed menus as static images, resulting in a poor user experience and limited visibility in search engines. Key information, such as the address, phone number, and hours of operation, was hidden in the footer, making it difficult for users to find. Without a map or emphasis on its location, potential customers had trouble locating the café.
Additionally, the website missed opportunities by not promoting four important revenue streams: delivery and pickup, private event bookings, weekly events, and its vacation rental, which was entirely absent from the site.
Our mission was to revamp Artisan’s outdated website with a modern, responsive design that improved the user experience and functioned as a valuable business asset. We enhanced the visual appeal by incorporating large, bold images of food and cocktails, which better showcased the menu, highlighted food and drink specials, and reflected the brand’s identity. To drive sales and improve online visibility, we developed a text-based menu with a visually-driven layout, making the site more SEO-friendly. We also implemented a Google Maps integration to provide users with clear directions to the location. Additionally, we ensured the website was fully responsive, providing an excellent display on any device.
Our efforts extended to addressing Artisan’s key revenue streams. We made the weekly events more prominent and created a new event listings page. We integrated a quote request form to streamline private event bookings and created a dedicated page to promote their vacation rental, which included direct integration with the Airbnb booking system. Finally, to address the growing demand for convenience, we integrated Uber Eats to generate online sales through takeout and delivery.
The redesigned website effectively tackled Artisan’s main challenges, leading to a more functional and profitable online presence. The new visually-driven layout captured the essence of the brand and made it easier for customers to explore the menu. With clean navigation, prominent contact information, and integrated Google Maps, the overall user experience improved significantly, allowing customers to effortlessly find the information they needed and locate the business.
The introduction of strategic new features significantly improved business operations and increased revenue. The private event quote form simplified the booking process, while the integration with Uber Eats boosted takeout and delivery sales. Additionally, the dedicated vacation rental page, which included a direct link to the Airbnb booking system, boosted visibility and bookings for the property. By addressing these key challenges, the website was transformed from a liability into a valuable asset that actively contributes to business growth.
The new website provided a strong foundation for future marketing efforts. The marketing team was able to take advantage of the new, SEO-optimized site structure and text-based menus to enhance the company’s Google My Business listing and create effective landing pages for social media display advertising. The updated layout and content of the website also made it easier for the team to produce engaging social media content. Additionally, the Mailchimp integration enabled the team to start collecting email addresses and building a robust email marketing program.
