Adobe announced End-of-Support (EOS) for its 12-year-old e-commerce product, Magento 1. As of June 30, 2020, Adobe stopped releasing patches and responding to security issues for all Magento 1.x releases.
If your online store is still running on Magento 1, Adobe recommends all site owners migrate to Magento version 2 as soon as possible. After the EOS date, your website could become more vulnerable to security violations and performance problems.
Magento 2 provides better performance, advanced SEO, improved checkout, stronger security, and marketing automation. Plus, the infrastructure is easier to maintain and support which decreases your long-term website hosting and maintenance costs.
After Sept 30, 2021, we will no longer provide technical support, maintenance, or hosting for Magento 1 websites due to evolving web and server technologies. The level of effort and associated costs to maintain credit card compliance and build custom security patches for outdated web technology far outweighs the cost of migration to a more secure and modern e-commerce platform.
We provide two Magento 1 Migration options.
We recommend the Shopify Migration for our clients with small to mid-size shops. You are generally the client who likes to manage your online store operations through a convenient web-based admin. Shopify makes it a breeze for shop owners to add products, images, and content using a more user-friendly drag and drop interface.
Suitable for users of all technical abilities. Shopify allows shop owners to make many website updates without having to get a developer involved. And, if you need a developer for customizing themes or integrating extensions, we can help with that too! The money you will save on website maintenance costs can be applied to other business expenses, for example, your marketing budget.
The Shopify migration is a speedy process that allows us to get our existing Magento 1 clients selling on Shopify within 7-10 business days. Our developers take the headache out of transferring your complex Magento theme files to your new Shopify store. Icky things, like moving your website styles, extensions, databases of customer and product information, shipping and payment integrations, and tax configurations. We make it a seamless transition. Best of all, there's no downtime on your current Magento store during the migration process so you don't miss any sales!
Perfect! E-Commerce Website Hosting is the recurring fee an online retailer pays to a company to store the website files and data, run the website, and keep it safe online. The annual costs to host your site are much lower on the Shopify platform.
Managed Hosting Costs
Shopify Basic $360+/yr vs Magento 2.x $900+/yr
The Magento 2 Migration is a better choice for large e-commerce retailers that require extensive customizations and complex integrations. Magento 2 is a much more flexible e-commerce platform that requires advanced technical expertise to bring a retailer's e-commerce vision to life. It's best suited for our clients who rely heavily on our experienced website design, development, and security teams to manage their online shop operations.
The easiest way to determine which version of Magento you are using is to log into your website admin panel and compare it with the two photos below.

We understand how COVID-19 has impacted many small businesses. Our team plans to help our clients maintain their Magento 1 websites for 18 months following the Magento EOS date. We hope all our clients will be in a better position to devote time and resources to migrate their online stores before September 30, 2021.
Migration payment plans are available for our existing Magento 1 clients in 6 or 12-month terms. Contact your current account rep or select an option below to begin the migration process.
